Oakville, ON - At the Canadian Senior Little League Championship in Oakville, Ontario the Glace Bay Antonians defeated the NDG Senior Lynx from Montreal 7-3 to advance to the Championship game tonight at 6:45PM against the Whalley Chiefs from Surrey, BC. After six rain delays the game resumed in the bottom of the third inning in a 1-1 tie. The game remained tied until the bottom of the fifth when NDG scored twice. Glace Bay bounced right back in the top of the sixth inning to score five runs on the strength of a two run double by Justin Rudderham. It was a lead they wouldn't surrender. They added one more run in the top of the seventh. The game featured a gutsy performance by Glace Bay starting pitcher Mitch Campbell who pitched an outstanding game on a serverely sprained left knee to earn the win. Justin Brann relieved Campbell in the sixth and shut down NDG for the save. Jeremi Roch took the loss for NDG. |
